Tenant by Tenant

Tenant by tenant is an ongoing project, part of BighART's 'Northcott Narratives'. I work with tenants of the Northcott housing estate, in Sydney's Surry Hills, to make portraits of neighbours and friends on the site. Tenants are given the opportunity to find and invite a subject to be photographed, the only rules being those people must live at Northcott and the photograph must be taken at Northcott.
I don't teach the participants about the technical side of photography, though they learn about this during the process, but rather I am interested in the relationship that forms as a result of the portrait session.
These portraits have been instrumental in creating strong relationships between individuals, groups and communities on the Northcott Estate.
